Vintage Fisher-Price #790 The Candy Man Tote-A-Tune Music Box Radio
Bring a familiar childhood melody to your collection with this vintage Fisher-Price #790 “The Candy Man” Tote-A-Tune Music Box Radio. Its bright orange case, colorful illustrations and pretend radio controls capture the charm of classic Fisher-Price musical toys.
A large white knob winds the music box, which is designed to play “The Candy Man” while illustrated scenes revolve past the curved front viewing window. A yellow pretend channel selector moves along a vertical numbered tuning scale and clicks when moved up or down. Molded musical notes and a textured pretend speaker panel complete the radio-style front.
The hard plastic carry handle features raised Fisher-Price lettering, with a white front half and orange back half. The rear illustrated label depicts the Candy Man beside his colorful candy wagon, surrounded by three children and two dogs. Cotton candy, lollipops, a yellow candy umbrella and printed song lyrics fill out the cheerful scene.
The back label bears ©1978 Fisher-Price Toys, Division of The Quaker Oats Co., along with Made in U.S.A., model number 790, and “Musical Movement Made in Japan.” The copyright marking does not establish the exact manufacturing year of this individual toy.
Measuring approximately 4-7/8 inches wide, 5-1/2 inches high and 2 inches deep, this portable music box makes a nostalgic addition to a vintage Fisher-Price collection or musical toy display.
Condition: Still works, has rattle sound inside. The outer case has some marks and sticker on back damage at The on top. Overall a nice piece to own.
