1991 McDonald’s Happy Meal Hook Mermaid Wind-Up Bath Toy
Bring a little Neverland nostalgia to your collection with this 1991 McDonald’s Hook Mermaid wind-up toy, released as part of the Happy Meal promotion for Steven Spielberg’s feature film Hook.
One of four bathtub toys in the promotional series, this mermaid features flowing light blue hair accented with pink, yellow, and green details. Her sculpted body has a pink and green pattern, while a separate blue tail extends from the base. A white winding knob on the side operates the mechanism that moves the tail up and down.
The Hook Happy Meal bath toy series was available December 13, 1991, through January 9, 1992. Made in China and originally designated for ages 3 and up, this plastic mermaid measures approximately 4 inches long, 2.25 inches wide, and 1 inch high.

Condition Description
Pre-owned vintage toy with visible surface scuffs, scratches, and paint wear. Small areas of paint loss and marks are visible on the mermaid’s body and tail area, with additional wear to the colored hair accents and light blue housing. The white winding knob and blue tail are present. The wind-up mechanism still operates, but the tail moves slowly. Please review all photos for the exact cosmetic condition.
